Day-by-Day Itinerary

Your safari begins with a seamless pick-up from your location in Arusha and a transfer to Arusha Airport (ARK). You will board on a domestic flight to Seronera airstrip (SEU) in the heart of the Serengeti National Park. The flight is typically scheduled for a 09:30 departure, arriving at Seronera at 11:15. Upon arrival, your dedicated guide will meet you, and the adventure begins immediately with a game drive en route to the camp, complete with a delightful picnic lunch. The afternoon is spent immersed in the captivating wildlife of the Serengeti.

Following a nourishing early breakfast (around 06:30), we dedicate a full day to exploring the vast, undulating plains of the Serengeti. The game drive typically runs from 07:00 to 17:00. Your guide will use their extensive knowledge to track the park’s formidable predators, including lions, leopards, and cheetahs. At midday, your guide will lead you to a scenic, handpicked spot to enjoy your carefully prepared picnic lunch, allowing you to savor the landscape before continuing the search for wildlife.

After a final game drive adventure in the Serengeti, we proceed on a scenic road transfer to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The transfer offers game viewing opportunities en route as we ascend to the crater highlands. We arrive at the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, offering stunning views before settling into our selected lodge for dinner.

Today is dedicated to a spectacular descent into the UNESCO World Heritage Site: the Ngorongoro Crater. You will spend a full day exploring the crater floor, maximizing the chance to spot the Big Five. We typically begin the descent around 06:00 to maximize early morning sightings. The unique geological formation and the dense concentration of animals here promise truly iconic and unforgettable photography. Your guide will select a dedicated picnic spot near one of the hippo pools for your midday picnic lunch, and we will ascend and return to our lodge by late afternoon (around 16:00).

After a leisurely breakfast, we take a scenic drive to Tarangire National Park, renowned as “The Land of the Giants” for its majestic herds of elephants and the iconic, ancient baobab trees that dominate the landscape. Upon arrival, we embark on an afternoon game drive. Tarangire offers a more wild safari experience, focusing on massive elephant populations and the unique tree-climbing pythons.

We dedicate a second full day to exploring the diverse habitats of Tarangire. Our game drives will focus on the Tarangire River, the park’s vital water source, which draws animals to its banks, particularly during the dry season. This riverine focus provides exceptional opportunities to observe the park’s dramatic wildlife dynamics.

Enjoy a final relaxing breakfast at the lodge. Depending on your flight schedule, your private transfer will take you from the Tarangire area to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK), facilitating your seamless return home or onward journey.

Important pre safari and accommodation notes

  • Accommodation Basis: By default, our tours include shared accommodation in twin/double rooms. A single supplement is available upon request and agreed confirmation. Please always refer to the program to see your specific accommodation arrangements.
  • Meal Plans: Moshi and Arusha-based accommodations typically include breakfast only, unless specifically requested and agreed upon otherwise. Please refer to the program to review your meal plans for each night.
  • Beverages: Most safari lodges and camps usually do not include tea, coffee, soft, and alcoholic drinks in the full board rate. This is to ensure you do not overpay for beverages you may not need. You will be able to order and pay for drinks directly at the hotels’ restaurants and bars.
  • Tented Camp Experience: Tented lodges are the most common type of accommodation in the savannah. Many of them rely on solar energy, which sometimes means features like bucket showers, limited Wi-Fi, and no hair dryers, all in a dedicated effort to reduce environmental impact. We encourage you to do some basic research on the accommodations in your program to ensure the safari matches your desired travel style.
