Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1 | Arusha to Tarangire National Park – Land of the Giants

Your safari begins as your private guide meets you in Arusha for a 2-hour transfer to Tarangire National Park. Renowned for its colossal elephant herds and iconic baobab trees, Tarangire offers a raw and beautiful introduction to the wild. After a game drive through its diverse landscapes and a scenic picnic lunch, we proceed to the lush highlands of Karatu for the evening.

Day 2 | Ngorongoro Crater to Serengeti – The Ancient Caldera

After a nourishing breakfast, we visit one of Africa’s seven natural wonders: the Ngorongoro Crater. Formed from a massive volcanic eruption two million years ago, this fertile caldera hosts the highest concentration of animals on the continent. We descend for a full-day game drive, offering a rare opportunity to witness the elusive Black Rhino. In the afternoon, we transition into the “endless plains” of the Serengeti.

Day 3 | Serengeti National Park – The Pursuit of Predators

We dedicate a full day to exploring the vast horizons of the Serengeti. The name, derived from the Maasai word Siringet, reflects the infinite nature of these plains. Your guide will use their tracking expertise to locate the park’s formidable predators—lions, leopards, and cheetahs—as they navigate the grasslands. We return to our camp as the sun sets over the savannah.

Day 4 | Serengeti to Zanzibar – From Savannah to Spice Island

Following a final morning in the wild, you will be transferred to the Seronera Airstrip for a domestic flight directly to Zanzibar. Upon arrival, you will be met by our representative and transferred to your seaside boutique hotel. The afternoon is yours to begin your immersion into the Swahili and Islamic influences that define this historic trade center.

Day 5 | Zanzibar – Pristine Shores & Rejuvenation

Today is dedicated to total relaxation on the captivating beaches of the Zanzibar archipelago. Known for its crystal-clear waters and breathtaking sunsets, the island offers a sanctuary to reflect on your safari adventures. You may choose to explore the winding alleys of Stone Town or simply enjoy the tranquil rhythm of the Indian Ocean.

Day 6 | Depart Arusha - Farewell to Tanzania

Enjoy a final tropical breakfast at your resort. Your private transfer will be arranged to ensure you arrive at Zanzibar International Airport with ample time for your return flight home or your next destination, marking the conclusion of your Tanzanian odyssey.

Important pre safari and accommodation notes

Accommodation Basis: By default, our tours include shared accommodation in twin/double rooms. A single supplement is available upon request and agreed confirmation. Please always refer to the program to see your specific accommodation arrangements.
Meal Plans: Moshi and Arusha-based accommodations typically include breakfast only, unless specifically requested and agreed upon otherwise. Please refer to the program to review your meal plans for each night.
Beverages: Most safari lodges and camps usually do not include tea, coffee, soft, and alcoholic drinks in the full board rate. This is to ensure you do not overpay for beverages you may not need. You will be able to order and pay for drinks directly at the hotels’ restaurants and bars.
Tented Camp Experience: Tented lodges are the most common type of accommodation in the savannah. Many of them rely on solar energy, which sometimes means features like bucket showers, limited Wi-Fi, and no hair dryers, all in a dedicated effort to reduce environmental impact. We encourage you to do some basic research on the accommodations in your program to ensure the safari matches your desired travel style.
